My 12 To-Be-Finished in 2012

My friend Laura is encouraging us to select 12 cross stitch projects to finish in 2012.  She is blogging about each of us on her blog.  I really really want to keep up with this.  All of my choices are pictured on her blog so hop over to Maude and Mozart to see what I picked.  I promise I will post progress pictures here on my blog.

Have a special Day!  T

Blackbird's Christmas Garden

I LOVE this new design by Blackbird. I started it on Monday. It is going quickly even though I had to stitch the top vine twice (-:

I have other things I should be working on but I just don't want to put this down. I am stitching it on 36 ct French Vanilla Swirl that my dear friend Barb gave me! She is soooo nice.

There is one more thing I am afraid I may get addicted to. Check out the little house quilt along. The darling blocks are only 3" ~ too cute.

I hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

Just Catching Up

OH I've been busy!  Have a few finishes to show and I got to go on a couple of girlfriend retreats.  Life is good!

Last week-end I went with my quilting buddies on a retreat to Menasha Wisconsin.  My husband says I shouldn't call it a retreat ~ it sounds religious ~ I told him it is a retreat ~ it is so good for the soul!

Here is where we slept ~

and here is where we worked

Sorry I didn't take more pictures but it was a great get-away.  I worked on Prairie Bound by Country Sampler.  Here is a picture from Country Sampler's website.  I will post a picture of the quilt when it is all together.

We got a lot of quilting done ~ enjoyed some long walks along the lake ~ had tons of giggles and just great girlfriend time.

And the very next week-end I went to a Cross Stitch Retreat hosted by Inspired Needle in Lemont IL.  We stayed at the Farmstead Inn in Shipshewana IN.  We had a great time!  We shopped ~ we laughed ~ we ate ~ we laughed some more ~ and we even stitched a little!  I didn't take any pictures but go here and here to see a couple of great posts about the retreat.  And here is what I did work on ~ Fancey Blackett

And now for my few finishes!
Give Thanks by With Thy Needle ~ this is the Fall project selected by my stitch group.
this is the Summer project selected by my stitch group.
Fruitful Clusters by The Goode Huswife on 40 ct! My first 40 ct ever!

And one more ~ a quilt finish!

This quilt was made from the Summer Stars (5 stars a week) from Primitive Gatherings

Now I am working on trying my hand at framing a few things ~ I think I can do it ~ and it would save a lot in framing costs.  I'll let you know how that goes!

Part One Finished

Greetings ~ I thought I would show off my finished Part One of the With Thy Needle and Thread Mystery Sampler ~ I Love working on this.  I have seen a few people who have finished all three parts!  I'll get there!

With Thy Needle and Thread
Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler
35 ct WDW Confederate Grey
WDW threads

And I have finished a few other items recently that I did not have a chance to post sooner.

Lizzie Kate
ABC Lessons
32 ct Lambswool

I started the ABC Lessons with 2 of my sisters, 2 years ago!  One sister finished a while back; I am second!

Spring Pillow Tuck by Primitive Bettys

I did this one with my stitching buddies and we all selected a different fiber. Laura wrote more about it here and here

I haven't started my groups summer project but it is A Basket of Flowers by Stacy Nash.  It is at least kitted and that counts!  Everyone is picking different fabric and fibers and colors and that is making it a lot of fun.

I also finished Button, Button by Country Cottage Needleworks ~ with coordinated buttons selected by one of my LNS

I finished Stitching by the Sea by Blackbird Designs.  I was in a SAL with my friend Patti.  Patti suggested the change from stitch with me to sit with me.  I think my family would just roll their eyes at stitch with me so I am glad she suggested it.

That is all the pictures I took, but I just remembered I also finished Red White and Bloom by Country Cottage Needleworks.  I will share a picture next time ~ I'll try not to be gone so long.

What a lucky girl am I!

I was so excited when I won a sewing case from Pat Look how precious!

Add she made it ~ I cannot believe how lovely it is ~ I can keep my special sewing stuff in it ~ It has all kinds of compartments ~ I think I will use it for my hand piecing project

I wrote to Pat about the "birthday quilt" she made ~ I am starting the same quilt ~ and she was so nice to send me a few blocks for my quilt!  They are only 1 1/2 " finished size

I will love including them in my quilt and will always think of Pat's kindness.  Thanks again Pat

I'm Back

Wow! Can't believe I haven't posted since Thanksgiving!  Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The first thing I started with my AccuQuilt GO! was the Bountiful Baskets!  I had this pattern for a few years and have the fabric but just never got around to making it.

I made a few basket blocks and LOVE how quickly they go together.

I wanted to finish this quilt before I allowed myself to "play" with the  AccuQuilt GO! It is finished and ready to go to the long arm quilter.  I really love it!  It is all Jo Morton fabrics.

And I just finished inventorying and organizing my cross stitch stash WOW I have a lot of stuff!  But it feels so much better to have it all in one place and I know what I have and where it is!

I used a hall closet that was really just a catch all

Everything is organized alphabetically in the boxes above or the drawers below and my inventory tells me whether I have just the chart or which fabric and fibers I have.  Feels much better now!

Have a super day!
